The village hosts one of the biggest fruit, vegetable market on the Bodrum Peninsula. Horse riding is also available in a near by village. The very old town of Bodrum has all the night life you may require together with a large selection of shops and many kinds of entertainment with cultural activities available. Bodrum town being only 15 minutes away, keeps the noise and flashing lights as you escape back to peaceful Yalikavak for a relaxing holiday.

Yalikavac is a small traditional fishing village situated on the northen coast of the Bodrum pennisular. It is home to a brand new multi-million pound marina which has its own amphitheatre and shopping complex. There are plenty of mini-markets in and around the traffic free centre as well as cash machines and banks. For a more complete shop, Tescos ,B Q, and Macro can all be found a short dolmus ride away on route to Bodrum. Nightlife mainly consists of dining out at one of the excellent seafront restaurants around the old harbour before moving on to one of the many traditional bars / tavernas If a more active nightlife is sought the busy resorts of Bodrum and Gumbet are a short dolmus ride away where you can experience one of Europes largest open-air dicos or dance the night away aboard a disco catamaran whilst sailing the aegean.

A new marina is about 20 minutes walk away with designer shops and restaurants the newly built theatre has outside live shows and bands. Yalikavak has a market every Thursday where you can purchase herbs and spices, the display of fruit and vegatables is an art in itself! Also local goods such as towels bedding etc can be purchased remember to haggle!! There are regular boat trips from Yalikavak harbour or from Bodrum. There are many land places to visit such as Ephesus the largest archaeological site in the world, and the pools of Pamukkale both available to go on a bus trip from travel shops in Yalikavak.
