The nearest beaches are the famous lagoon of Oludeniz or the pebble and sand beach of Belcekiz.

A dolmus leaves every five or ten minutes. The village is full of bars, restaurants and shops. This is certainly the place to haggle for any imitation designer gear. The cool mountain air can be quite a relief after a day in the sun and there is plenty to do in the evening.

Ovacik Driving from Fethiye up the mountain, you will come upon the towns of Ovacik and Hisaronu. The scenery is breathtaking and you are welcomed by pine clad hills, a refreshing breeze, and a slightly cooler climate than in Fethiye town. Ovacik is peaceful and relaxing with a collection of small hotels, apartments and villas. There are a sprinkling of restaurants and a small selection of shops. The views across the valley are breathtaking, as are the sun sets. A short stroll or five minute dolmus ride will find you in the lively town of Hisaronu. Ovacik is situated only 3km away from Olu-Deniz beach and is the neighbouring village to Hisaronu, a resort with an excellent selection of bars, restaurants and shops. The village itself nestles amongst the pine forest on the lower slopes of Babadag (Father Mountain) and enjoys a cool refreshing breeze. The apartment is only 200 yds from the main bus route and several shops bars and restaurants. Olu-Deniz beach with the famous lagoon is 10 minutes away on the bus, the market town of Fethiye is 15 minutes away. HISARONU / OVACIK AREA Ovacik is a quiet rural area situate between the lively and friendly resort of Hisaronu and the nearby town of Fethiye. The dolmus, (pronounced dolmush), (minibus) is the cheapest and easiest way of getting around, and the villa is only a 5 minute stroll to the main Hisaronu - Fethiye road, along which the dolmus runs every 5-10 minutes in Season. Ovacik has several family run supermarkets where you can buy your food and personal essentials. It also has a number of restaurants offering a variety of International cusine, including English traditional foods, pizzas, to traditional turkish dishes, all at a very reasonable cost. Olu Deniz hosts the famous Blue Lagoon and is located approx. 10 mins away by dolmus. Here you can see the paragliders glide down from Mount Babadag and land on the beach, a fantastic experience which you can participate in with a tandem pilot. The views are breathtaking, words simply are unable to describe them. Fethiye, once a small market town and fishing village, has become a thriving harbour town and tourist attraction. It is approx. 15 mins by dolmus.

The Turquoise Coast/Lycia Region. The turquoise coast is situated South West of Turkey. It is an area of outstanding beauty with pine clad mountains, beaches and lots to do for all ages. Our apartment is situated in Ovacik which is very peaceful during the day .It sits up the mountain 1000ft above sea level, where there is normally a cooling breeze which can give you the impression that it is not as warm as it really is, but can be very welcoming in the hot summer months. A short walk takes you to the neighbouring village of Hisaronu, where you will find a wide range of shops, restuarants, bars, clubs and hotels. From Hisaronu you can take a short dolmus ride to Kaya Koy Village (which is also known as the Ghost Town). This is increasingly becoming a popular tourist attraction with it's many restaurants and bars. Olu Deniz is also a short dolmus ride away, here you will find one of the most photographed beaches in Turkey. It boasts a long blue lagoon which is suitable for all ages. Olu Deniz also has an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops. Fethiye is a 15 minute bus ride away. Here you will find a bustling market town with harbour, lots of bars, restaurants and shops. There is a market here every Tuesday (Monday in Hisaronu) where you can shop till you drop picking up lots of lovely presents to take back home. From the harbour you can also arrange many numerous boat trips (which is a must and very reasonable). The average temperature in the summer is 30 - 40 c.
