La Heredia from where it has the benefit of panoramic views over the village and to the sea.

The Area
From San Pedro de Alcántara, just south of Marbella, the road winds and climbs in the direction of the ancient town of Ronda. Ascending through a landscape dominated by the striking shell-shaped mountain 'La Concha', you pass the famous Los Arqueros golf course and suddenly catch sight of this lovely Andalucian hilltop village, a jewel unto itself.

This delightful village, designed along the lines of the traditional pueblo blanco (white village), is pure Andalucia. Charming narrow streets wind through the terraced hillside, punctuated by plazas, arches and fountains that evoke the rich Moorish heritage of the area.

Cobbled streets weave around the village and a maze of intriguing pathways and hidden flights of stone steps, all bedecked by glorious scented flowers, lead between the bright houses. The views from all points of the village are simply breathtaking and on a clear day you can see Gibraltar and the North African coastline.
