Description
Nestling in the heart of peaceful Aveyron countryside, this beautifully restored south facing farmhouse of typical local architecture offers a wonderfully relaxing holiday home.

Not in any way typical of most holiday houses, it has the feeling of a home, and with it immense comfort. It is large, light and airy with highest quality fixtures.

Surrounded by countryside, this is a wonderful place for a quiet relaxing holiday and ideal for nature lovers and walkers.

Ideally situated between the medieval villages of Najac and Corde sur Ciel and 20 minutes from the vibrant market town of Villefrance and the spectacular St Antonin Noble Val, there is easy access to restaurants, shops and the renowned traditional markets - assuming you can drag yourself away from this idyllic holiday retreat of course!

INTERIOR
The large country-style kitchen is ideally equipped for in-house catering, with a full- size table and chairs, American type fridge/freezer, dishwasher etc. There is also a CD player with some CDs, but do bring some music of your choice.
Adjacent to the kitchen is the utility room and washing machine. This leads to the downstairs cloakroom.
Across the hallway is the dining room, should you decide on more formal dining one evening.
Doors from here lead onto the patio and pool area as they do from the 'summer lounge' which, with its comfortable soft furnishings, is an ideal place to take a rest from the sun. With satellite TV and numerous Sky channels, it is ideal for youngsters to take a break from the pool. There is a video player and a selection of cassettes.
On the first floor is the master double bedded room with a superb view over the pool and terrace area and a large en-suite with bath, shower and twin hand basins.
There is a further twin bedded room and bathroom and a large double bedroom with en-suite.
Accessed from the landing area or separately by an external staircase you will find the 'winter lounge' which offers a cool comfortable 'get-away' room.
On the top floor there is a fully equipped bathroom and two twin bedded rooms. All bedrooms are light and airy with soft colours and delightfully furnished.

GARDENS AND POOL

The swimming pool measures 12m x 5m with a constant depth of 1.3m throughout. It has a surround of terracotta tiles and is sited in the delightfully lawned gardens of almost one acre. There are parasols to provide the all-important shade during those long hot summers.
The patio, which leads from the downstairs lounge towards the pool, has a table and chairs and BBQ for outdoor eating and is also accessed from the kitchen.
There is an additional shaded eating area to the east of the property, equipped with breakfast table and chairs - a great place to take the early morning sunshine. There are relaxers and sun-loungers for all and for the more energetic there is badminton, boules, a paddling pool and various pool toys.

The Area
The properties are approximately a day's drive from the Channel Ports and just over an hour from Toulouse Airport. Rodez airport is on average 1 hour 15 mins and Carcassone 2 hours to most of the properties.

All properties are just short drives from Medieval towns steeped in history which still enjoy a quiet sophistication, together with friendly local people who have a warmth to match their lovely countryside. The area is unspoilt by the over-crowding of tourists experienced nowadays in many parts of France.

All properties enjoy a panoramic view and mostly are surrounded on all sides by open countryside. The properties offer tranquility and relaxation and yet are still within easy reach of amenities.

LOCAL ATTRACTIONS
Nearby are Medieval villages, Bastide towns, Chateaux, Abbeys, Churches and magnificent natural sites of outstanding beauty; whether it be wooded valleys or the meandering River Aveyron with its dramatic gorges.

ACTIVITIES
Horse riding, canoeing, fishing, bird watching, rail trips, rock climbing, wine tasting, museums, pot-holing, tennis and of course walking. Golf is available at Albi (18-hole delightful course), where there is also a water-park for children. An afternoon's excursion by canoe through the Aveyron Gorge is considered a 'must' by nearly all guests.
A number of local villages and towns have interesting and colourful markets. (NB: Be sure not to miss the local market in St Antonin held on SUNDAY mornings and Villefranche on Thursdays).

EXCURSIONS BY CAR
Within short driving distances, excursions can also be made to a number of fascinating towns and villages including Cordes, Albi, Najac, Cahors, St Antonin Noble Val and Bruniquel, all of which are well worth a visit. The larger towns house excellent restaurants to cater for all budgets.
