Entertainment

Yalikavak is a quiet, relaxing resort which has been stylishly developed from its origin as a fishing village. The apartment is situated 20 minutes walk from the centre of Yalikavak, with its own private (not overlooked) balconies with un-obstructed, stunning views over farm land to the nearby hills. The apartment is ideal for those families or for couples seeking a relaxing, peaceful or romantic holiday, with access to the delights of Yalikavak harbour and its fish restaurants, small bars and newly constructed amphi-theatre. Those seeking a more lively time can take a 30 minute bus (Dolmus) or taxi ride to historic Bodrum (cost approx £1), known in ancient times as Helicarnasos.
The resort of Bodrum is famous for its shops, (particularly clothes shops!) and nightlife. Its castle is in good repair and well worth a visit. For those with an even greater sense of history, the remains of the Mausoleum (one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world) are located at the centre of Bodrum.

• Dalyan (Includes a boat trip across a lake which meets the sea at Turtle beach, mud baths (Used by Dustin Hoffman and Naomi Campbell), spectacular views of rock tombs)
• Turgutreis – A short bus (Dolmus) trip along the coast for the best beach in the whole peninsula and a market / bazaars on Saturday.
• Scuba-diving (Instruction given for 1st timers!)
• Kos or Rhodes (Fortress / Castle, harbour, shops etc) – Remember your pass-ports!
• Car hire and airport transport can be arranged by our agent (Sheval at Clover Villa Management)
• Shops selling local crafts and GOOD VALUE produce (Fish / fruit & veg)
• Off-shore breeze provides opportunity for wind-surfing

Safety

An apartment offers freedom from the restrictions of a hotel, however with that freedom comes a responsibility for your own safety. There are no first-aid helpers or pool attendants, so please take care. It is impractical to make any property 100% safe. These are the areas of highest risk:

* The pool (This is deep, with ceramic surround) Please supervise children at all times.
* Balconies – There is a high drop to the next floor! – No running or leaning over the balcony rails please.
* Cooker – Please make sure that the hob is turned off after use, and remember the electrical rings stay hot for a long time after switching off.
* The steps to the door are sometimes poorly lit – watch your step.
* Smoke alarm fitted
* Fire extinguisher
* First aid kit provided

Hints and tips:

The air conditioning hand set on the wall next to the fridge / freezer activates all three air conditioning units.

Please do not flush toilet paper down the toilet!! Sewage systems in Turkey cannot handle paper and blockages are unpleasant, expensive and embarrassing!

Mosquitos don’t seem to be a particular problem in this area, but we recommend the use of plug-in repellents which work really well.
